Professor Malgorzata Wasek-Wiaderek, ImprovEAW Partner, Dr. Adrian Zbiciak and a team of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin hosted the Symposium ImprovEAW- Improving mutual recognition of European Arrest Warrants through Common Practical Guidelines last Monday and Tuesday in Poland. The Symposium marks the conclusion of ImprovEAW project, after two years of research, and presents the results, for participants present online and in person from 20 Member States and Third States with whom the EU has close cooperation in criminal matters.
The faculty dean, Prof. Andrzej Herbet, welcomed participants, followed by a presentation of the project objectives and methods made by the Prof. André Klip and Prof. Vincent Glerum. During the event participants and members of the Sounding Board discussed the most challenging issues in EAWs for the seven Partners' Member States, and the project's recommendations as well as Common Practical Guidelines drafted by the Management Team.
